Kims Arbeiten laden den Betrachter ein, sich mit dem nicht sichtbaren auseinanderzusetzen. In dieser Gruppe der Arbeiten werden unterschiedliche Aspekte untersucht in den der Mensch in Korrelation zur Natur gesetzt wird. Die Seele und das „Nicht – Sichtbare“ was unter der Haut der Natur für das bloße Auge nicht lesbar ist, sind Schlüsselaspekte die den Betrachter zu einer Reise zu sich selbst als Mensch einladen.

Kims Serie „Inszenierungen des Nicht – Sichtbaren“ bilden eine Brücke zwischen Emotionen, Gedanken und der Präsenz im realen Leben. Über menschliche Konstruktionen schwebt der Geist, der alle sichtbaren und unsichtbaren Naturphänomene zu einer großen Weltinszenierung orchestriert. Die Schöpfung ist ganzheitlich, Mikro und Makro ergänzen einander. Die Verwendung solcher Begrifflichkeiten werden dem Mensch und seiner Zwanghaftigkeit die Dinge zu verstehen, hinterlassen.

This series of works

Kim`s works invite the viewer to deal with the Non-visible. In this group of works different aspects of man are analyzed in correlation to nature. The soul and “Non-visible” are the key aspects for the viewer to have a trip in himself as a man, where it is not possible to read under the skin of nature with the bare eye.

Kim`s new series “Productions of the Non-visible form” is a bridge between emotions, thoughts, and the presence in real life. Around human constructions there floats the mind which orchestrates all visible and invisible physical phenomena to a big world staging. The creation is holistic, and microcosmos and macrocosmos complement each other. All these would leave it to the person and his obsessiveness to understand the use of such abstract concepts.

Elke Kim and Natascha Sonnenschein Presenting „Theme Quantum“ in the Arthause Rhenania, Cologne

THEME QUANTUM//ORCHIDS do not lie
Guess what the exhibition title suggests. This art exhibition is more than usual retrospective. You can feel the influence of science and philosophy on the works of the two artists of Cologne, Elke Kim and Natascha Sonnenschein. It is not surprising that the works of people like Max Planck, to Johann W. von Goethe have influenced this multimedia art
journey towards a game with light. With this exhibition,8-30 May, 2010, in the exhibition hall (Ausstellungshalle) near Yachthafen, located in Kunsthaus Rhenania, Rheinauhafen Cologne [Bayenstr. 28, 50678, Cologne] the artists’ aim to stage the Non-visible visible. While Elke Kim focuses on painting and poetry, Natascha Sonnenschein plays with the possibilities of different media. She combines and presents her developed form of Scanography with installations. Playing with Nothing, the ground of being or the matrix, as Planck puts it, makes the special charm of this exhibition. The viewer might feel bewildered in his attitudes toward life. Playfully, he is invited to experience a new perception of reality. According to Goethe, „The mediator of the inexpressible is the work of art.“
